WHAT IS COLOUR IMPLANT?

Colour Implant is a method of applying micro insertions of pigment into the dermal layer of the skin. This state of the art technique is medically proven and completely safe and performed under strict sanitation and sterilisation guidelines according to the Public Health Act. It is a form of cosmetic tattooing which should be thought of as being ‘permanent’, however as is also true of body tattoo work, the degree of ‘permanency’ varies with each individual.

Colour can fade due to many factors, including over-exposure to the sun, a person’s own body chemistry, and the degree of care taken to maintain the procedures. Any process involving the skin such as facials, acid peels or certain medications such as acutane can adversely effect the colour integrity.

However the lifetime integrity of the colour has nothing to do with the permanent nature of any form of tattooing. Colour is implanted in molecules and the molecule remains in the skin permanently, even when you hear about removals via laser, the pigment molecules remain in the skin but the colour has been bleached, which is the same thing that happens, to a much lesser degree from exposure to the sun. Therefore, to properly classify this industry, using the word ‘permanent’ is entirely appropriate.

Technology has come to the rescue of women and men and is suitable for everyone who wants to look good 24 hours a day, it provides a safe natural looking alternative to your daily makeup routine and ideal for cosmetic enhancement such as eyebrows, eyeliner and lipliner colour. Other permanent cosmetics include vitiligo, stretchmark, scar camouflage, areola restoration, hairline enhancement, alopecia, cleft palate and more.

Q. Is it safe?

A. Yes, its perfectly safe and the procedure is performed following strict hygiene and sterilisation procedures as stated under the guidelines of The Public Health Act.

Q. Is it a tattoo?

A. It is similar to a tattoo but much more shallow and delicate which allows the colour to become soft and muted. A tattoo is forever but Colour Implant's lighter colours generally fade out after 3-10 years depending on the colour implanted, the person's age, skin tone and metabolism of cellular renewal.

Q. Is the procedure painful?

A. A topical anaesthetic is applied usually making it quite painless, uncomfortable for some - no problem for most. The procedure generally takes less than one hour and the years of looking great far outweigh any momentary discomfort.

Q. Is there a recovery period?

A. No Colour Implant is quite superficial. Although some may experience slight swelling or bruising for a short period of time, it is generally not noticeable to family or friends.

Q. What does it cost?

A. Between two hundred and seven hundred dollars per procedure depending on the amount of work required.
As a soft black eyeliner can last forever, it works out less expensive than temporary cosmetics, not to mention the time and frustration of trying to apply makeup evenly.
